The Im'uth prefer to live in dry climates. The Im'uth of Omuin live in deserts near the great plateaus.

The Im'uth are the descendants of humans. They retain all human features from skin tone to body shape to hair colour. However, due to Neuterium exposure and the malfunctioning Mother Trees, they have two distinct non-human traits.

They have a long, tail-like appendage starting at the nape of their neck that can reach their knees. This appendage is not prehensile. It ends in a bulbous, coloured tip with wrinkles that hide sense receptors. This is called a Taick (tai-Ck), and can sense changes in weather, temperature and Cord density. If a spell is about to malfunction, the tail can sense it and alert the Im'uth.

Im'uth also have a pattern of one or two colours somewhere on their body that resembles an eye shape. This can be anywhere on the body and is the same colour as the end of their Taick. This is the result of Neuterium exposure, much like the Neterar'iris's patternings.

Diet

The Im'uth are omnivores, eating primarily meats and carbohydrates. They forage and farm vegetables in greenhouses. Their diet is very similar to humans, however, Im'uth who live on sky islands have less dairy in their diets as it is harder to get milk up to the sky islands and it is dangerous to ranch on the sky islands.

Reproduction

Im'uth reproduce almost exactly like Humans. They have penetrative sex, a 9-month gestation and give live birth. They breastfeed their young, which can be done in public underneath their robes. There are designated breastfeeding areas for dams to feed their young with other dams safely.

During sex, their Taick will subconsciously press their bulbous heads against the other's body, feeling the strands that the other Im'uth is attached to. Taick heads never press against each other, as it creates a feedback loop that knocks both unconscious. This has been used as a recreational drug by younger generations of Im'uth, as it creates an extreme high during and after connection that lasts for two hours.

However, the most notable difference between Im'uth and Humans is the Im'uth experience a mating cycle every 6 years. At it's peak, a Im'uth will be overwhelmed with the desire to mate and breed for 1-3 days, becoming highly aggressive or submissive, depending on their sex. Male Im'uth become extremely submissive, and female Im'uth become extremely aggressive, both using their base instincts to find a mate. This 1-3 day period occurs based on the Im'uths hormones, and thus occurs at different times for different Im'uth. Outside of this 1-3 day period, Im'uth functions like any other humanoid species, going about their daily lives in an organized manner.
